But only until January 2nd of 2010, if you're in a North Carolina restaurant or bar. With a few exceptions (cigar bars and private clubs, for instance), with the ratification of NC House Bill 2, smoking has been made illegal in those establishments beginning next year. Governor Perdue has said that she will sign the bill.
The benefits to this bill are many, but probably the best is that California and New York have to quit giving us the stink-eye now! Don't they?
