Rove to Give Testimony

The House Judiciary Committee, chaired by Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.), has reached an agreement with the former Bush administration, whereby Karl Rove and Harriet Miers will obey the committee's subpoenaes and provide testimony in the investigation of politically-motivated firings of U.S. Attorneys under Bush. U.S. District Judge John Bates rendered an opinion in July of 2008 that denied the claims of executive immunity and privilege being used to avoid participation in the investigation.

The committee's website provides access to scores of documents regarding the US Attorney firings and many more relating to the report finding Harriet Miers and Joshua Bolten in contempt of congress.

No date has yet been set for the depositions, but the Judiciary Committee's website is updated frequently, and will very likely provide the testimony here, before it's available through the Government Printing Office.
