The UNC Board of Governors has developed several alternative plans for budget cuts. The 7% contingency plan comes close to the governor's proposal, with a savings of $180.2 million. This Board of Governors policy discussion document goes through the entire system and lists specific cuts that would be made, campus-by-campus.
Examples for UNCG's portion of cuts ($11.8 million):
- Reduction of 275 class sections
- Eliminate 5 positions that support IT services
- 60% of freshman seminar classes will be eliminated
- Eliminate 10 positions in the facilities division
